REMEMBER
They sacrificed their lives
In defense of all Americans
For a higher principle
One greater
Than a long life
For duty to country
Maintaining freedom
Protecting national security
Hurling the chaos of terror
From our minds
Honor these heroes
Remember their sacrifice
Their lives
Honor soldiers who lost limbs
Lost their livelihoods
Fell to Post traumatic stress disorder
Remember these
With compassionate acts
The gift of friendship
Offered in love
Remember the families
Past and present
Acknowledge their loss
With respect, love,
Emotional support
Honor all these American heroes
Who lost because of war
For they are our nation’s best
