THE GREATEST GIFT

Why choose death
When you can turn
To the Lord of life
And live

Sin brings destruction
Satan controls
The Lord of life gave His life
So you can live with Him
Forever
Content, saturated with love
Needing nothing else but His approval
Never to flounder again on your own
Freed from sin
Knowing He is the First and Last
Our eternal Balm
He heals the brokenhearted
Gives hope to the downcast
When all seems lost
Every effort is futile
He gives wings to fly
Soaring to heights above clouds
The surety of a paradise He chose for you
He would give you nothing less
You are the love of His life

He comes as a knight
To the darkness of this world
Gently lifting the willing
On to His white stead
Bound for the New Jerusalem
And eternity
All are chosen, marked for mercy
Few are willing
Join this grateful few
Who give loyalty to Him
When He calls

When He knocks
Open the door
Allowing Him to transform your character
Your holy vessel
Now far from falling
To the wiles of Satan
Freed
No longer captive to sin
But glorious
Glowing with His righteousness
Never to crave worldly ways again
For now you know Him well
Content in His love
Jelled in the conviction, a truth
He died and rose for you
Why choose death
When Jesus Christ is our salvation
Cling to Him
Till He takes you home
To reign with Him forever

DISCOVERING THE KING

I am not my own
I was bought with a price
Paid by Jesus on Calvary
He died not that we may sin
As our fallen natures incline us to
Asking for forgiveness
With the insincere hearts we’ve molded
Desiring cleansing
No.
He died that we might be with Him
Forever.
He bids us now draw near to Him
Turn from our sins after seeking His face
Learn humility taught at Calvary
To do the Father’s will
Learn dedication exhibited in His life
To follow, serving Him alone
Know His holiness
Become transformed in His likeness
Testify of Jesus
Drawing souls before His throne
There discovering a King
Who fulfills all our needs
Giving us certain hope of life everlasting
He who conquered sin and death
Through His perfect life and resurrection
Cling to Him
He who comes soon in the glory of a King
To take us home to be with Him forever
Amen.

THE HOLY ONES

Who are the holy ones still standing
Before the throne of Christ the King?
They’ve washed their robes in His blood,
Fixed their lives on God’s holy will.

Illumined, they stand in victory now.
Once turned against the Lord’s holy ways,
They were then sinners like us all.
Immersed in natural inclinations
Torn away by Satan’s spell.

The King turned darkness into light
By His coming, His words, and His rite.
He lay himself upon the Cross,
A Lamb whose slaughter set us free
To join the holy ones
Yes, you and me.

GOD’S PLAN

“For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be
upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”
(Isaiah 9:6).

The Child born that day in Bethlehem proved Wonderful, for He was born to give Himself, years later, as a sacrifice for our sins. He beckons, yes, offers us the gift of everlasting life with Him if we but choose to accept Him as our Savior.

Christ is also our Counselor, the omniscient One to guide us in all matters and become our best Friend, for He knows us — He created us and is our Mighty God.

As a part of the Triune Godhead, Christ is one with His Everlasting Father, a Father who loves us unconditionally — our Abba Father.

The Son of God, our Prince of Peace, saved us from our sins and this same Prince of Peace promised to come again to take us home with Him to heaven if we make a place for Him in our lives.

Let us consider Christ, our Messiah, as this Christmas fades, retain His gift of love and peace in our hearts, and remember to extend that same love to others, until He comes again in glory. Amen.

(Quoted Scripture from NKJV.)
