LEAN ON JESUS CHRIST

Learn to put your trust in Jesus.  He knows what’s best for you.  Learn to trust His Word.  His Word is truth.  Learn to lean on Him.  Jesus beckons you:

“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest    for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matt 11:28-30).  NKJV

We must learn from Jesus, to not use all our energy fighting the burdens of life, but to surrender ourselves to Him, learning to carry our burdens gently and evenly, with humility and grace, never feeling the full weight upon us.  For He would have us to find rest in Him.

For a good read, pick up my Christian novel, “The Casting of Crowns,” by Betsy O. Borchardt.  Get it on Amazon, Barnes and Noble online, or order it at your favorite bookstore.

WHAT IS TO COME

In my coming posts I will continue to provide you with words of inspiration, motivation, and encouragement concerning your relationship with God and with each other, while emphasizing the truths found in God’s Word, the Bible.

I will also add multimedia elements which will enhance the site. This and other minor changes as a result of taking WordPress’s blogging 101.

I think we too often attempt to perform God’s will using our own strength, not God’s strength. He offers to lead us in reaching goals He will provide us with, support us emotionally, and never leave us. In order to do this we need to look to Him first, lean on Him, and trust Him.

I hope the following poem entitled CREATED FOR INTIMACY inspires you to trust God to work through you.

Fear fades
For Jesus Christ reigns
On a King’s throne
Higher than any
With outstretched arms
Wooing
Replacing fear with trust
In those drawing close enough
To embrace His heart

He is our Creator
Having molded us in His image
Uniting His purpose
With our potential to love
In relationship with Him
Forever

LOOK TO THE AUTHOR OF LOVE

Who is boxed in, frozen, unloved
One not willing to connect in prayer
To the Author of love
Not willing to share
God’s endowment of love
An empty soul
For lack of trust in God’s ways
A self-sufficient being
Not willing to allow God
To transform a heart of stone
Into a living, loving heart
One prone to share a smile
A word of encouragement
Willing to share wisdom
Gained by knowing God
Sharing love expressed by forgiveness
Even of an enemy
An act of pity, of godliness
Love expressed by sacrificial giving
To help the poor and the needy
The homeless and the fatherless
These are not acts one originates
From oneself alone, but only
Through a heart connection with God
The Author of love
