COME BACK TO JESUS

 Jesus is coming,

He’s calling to you,

“You are My beloved.

You dismissed Me too soon.

You followed a path

of selfish design.

Your pride has inflated

your ego, gone wild.

No one gathers

around your feet.

They’ve come back to Me

in humility.

Your friends learned the price

of living for self.”

Loneliness grows,

love flees away.

Kneeling, ashamed,

before the risen Savior,

prompts your confession

of glorifying self.

You’re connecting again

to the Lord of life,

praying and pleading

for blessings anew.

“Welcome back, My beloved child.

Your sins are forgiven.

I never stopped loving you.”

THE LAST DAYS

The hour is upon us

The evil one lurks

seeking to cement all human beings

into people of conformity

Seldom questioning religious authority

bound to blind obedience

It never did occur to them

to seek Truth that saves

Deceived and engulfed by Satan’s cause

without being aware of their peril

Gravitating toward worldly pleasure

puffed up with deadly pride

viewing some sins as innocuous

Lost in a sea of immorality

Wise in their own eyes

who would rather not bother

leaning on Christ

but turn to idolizing self

looking for answers

in their own flawed wisdom

Some acknowledging themselves as gods

Turn, turn away from Satan

who has your eternal destruction in mind

Turn toward Truth, not conformity

Read the Scriptures

which testify of Jesus

Look up and focus on the Lord

Jesus Christ, the Holy One

Our only Mediator

Who longs to help us in our weakness

The Holy Spirit will spark in you

courage to change

and strength to resolve

to live for Jesus Christ alone

He’s the One who’s most worthy of praise

for He has redeemed us

Soon He will invite us

into His Heavenly Kingdom

Hold fast to His Word

TRANSFORMED

I pray for humility
Not often sought
On embarking on a journey
To serve and to be taught
Taught by the Lord
Through relationships formed
Gifts from the Lord
I fear, yet rejoice in

How often have I failed
Relinquished yet retained
A sense of self
Where pride remains
Too often have I gained
No truth at all
When turning from the Lord
To set my own course

But as I’m transformed
While answering His call
I can’t but think
His grace saves all

GOD’S AGENDA

Many of us seek our own advancement, our own glory, at the expense of advancing the Kingdom of God. We are all guilty to some degree, of the sin of pride which feeds our agenda. Ideally, we would all put God first. However, our souls are tainted. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). We are all selfish beings. We put our own interests ahead of God’s kingdom at some point in our lives. We seek our own glorification, propping ourselves up as idols, wanting the worship only God deserves. This was Lucifer’s sin. He hung onto his pride so tenaciously that he fell completely and became Satan.

Lest we identify with Satan for too long, let’s step back, look at ourselves, and size up attributes identifying us as children of God. We are all capable of love. This is the keystone of our species. Therefore, God gave us the responsibility of caring for His creation. Only a species capable of love could attempt to perform this duty. To the extent we succeed in our time, shall we be judged. If through pride, we exclusively seek our own interests, we will fail as God’s stewards. However, if through love, we succeed in protecting the earth and all that is in it, we will leave a legacy born of unselfishness and love for God. As nurturers of God’s creation, we then forfeit self-interest, and effectively tame pride. Only then can we advance the Kingdom of God which exists in a spiritual plane, void of pride. Yes, God has an agenda, the Kingdom of God, which should be our primary concern.

(Quoted Scripture from NKJV.)
