Their service stemmed from honor

Upright men and women

holding the country’s need for defense

above a sense of personal safety

Their service stemmed from duty

They’d been trained

to answer the call

To keep our country free

Their service stemmed from courage

No matter the duration

No matter the cost

they offered themselves

for love of country

We laid them to rest

though we cannot repay

We memorialize each

as sacred offerings

A careful reading of the book of Revelation yields, in part:

After Christ comes and claims His Saints,

who reign with Him 1000 years in heaven,

John relates,

On the new earth “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes;

there shall be no more death, nor sorrow,

nor crying; and there shall be no more pain

for the former things have passed away” (Rev 21:4 NKJV).
