ALL SEEMS LOST

My heart is as stone.
How could I come to this?
I no longer grieve for the sinner,
nor ask God to heal him.
I stand on a pedestal,
Better than most.
Sin has entered my heart
and stayed.
Enough to erupt,
to rebel against God.
I reach out not
as in the days of laughter
when tickled by God’s love,
as light as an angel.

Satan stalks valleys, plateaus,
and mouintain tops
Seeking prey,
Stumbling the weak
and wrapping rope around running legs.

All seems lost
until the Bright Star rises
Steady and strong
Compelling our attention,
Wrapping light around us.
Lifting,
Unbinding
Asking will you come with Me?
Will you stay
with a heart that humbles,
Clearing evil away?
To live for Him
I long for this
A softened heart.
My heart of stone
I cast in the sea.
I take my part
in His kingdom
Reaching, holding,
loving,
praying.
It is His love that humbled my life
working a miracle within,
Creating my heart anew,
Turning my heart toward His.
